Charles Sammons is a Black American instrumentalist, composer, and instructor who hails from both Charlottesville, Virginia and Washington DC. Sammons is equally at home behind the double bass, electric bass, and cello. Though he has a firm footing in tradition, he often pushes the outer boundaries of Jazz, Electronica, Rock and Pop.

At age 14, Charles Sammons studied composition and performance at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. His informal study continued in the clubs and basements of Washington DC, New York, and Seattle. Though initially cutting his teeth in the Blues and Funk scene of North Carolina, Sammons later toured with various Blues, Rock, Reggae, and Jazz ensembles throughout the United States. A high point, Sammons performed at “documenta(13)” in Kassel, Germany; where he recorded his current album in conjunction with a student residency. Charles Sammons currently resides in Berlin, Germany.

Eric Vaughn is a modern musical product of Savannah, GA, USA. He is a Jazz drummer, like his father Robert Vaughn, who performed in the region for more than 35 years. However, it was pianist/vocalist Freddy Cole who introduced Vaughn to the international scene; while touring throughout the 1990s. In 1995 Eric served as artistic director for the Atlanta Jazz Festival, then produced a cd of original music for the Savoy jazz label in 1996. From 1996 to 2007, Eric Vaughn led jazz trios aboard the Carnival cruise fleet; performing the Eastern Caribbean, South America, the Mexican Riviera, the Hawaiian Islands and Alaska. Vaughn resides in Berlin as of 2008.

Eric Vaughn has worked with both CNN and Walt Disney – as a composer and arranger. As a drummer, Vaughn has performed, toured collaborated or recorded with such as James Moody, Cedar Walton, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nicolas Payton, Freddy Hubbard and Jon Faddis.
